The Tablelands Folk Festival is Qld’s longest running Folk Festival and is an iconic cultural event within our region. Its ongoing survival and growth are vital for our economy, our community, and the cultural enrichment of residents both within and beyond Tablelands Regional Council catchment.
And finally and most importantly from Dulgubarra Yidinji Clan, Senior Elder (Uncle) Laurie Padmore:
We the Dulgubarra Yidinji First Nation People have been associated with the Tablelands Folk Festival committee over a number of years.
Their open-mindedness towards our indigenous culture is a wonderful example of recognition and acceptance and positive engagement.
It has been through this process that has enabled our group to feel respected and to enable a sharing of cultural knowledge during each festival, not only to them, but to the general public.
