Aimed at songwriters wanting to improve their craft with additional or slightly more complex tunings, arpeggios and runs of two note chords between their own chords. Primarily for guitarists and would suit those who can bring an instrument along.

Alternate tunings on the guitar (dropped D, double dropped D, DADGAD, dropped C, and open C) as well as an entire workshop just on accompanying traditional Irish music using DADGAD.

Vocal yoga with call and response participation. Kirtan roots stem from ancient Hindu Sanskrit. Featuring, tabla, cymbals, slide and acoustic guitars and lots of singing. This is a spiritually secular event.
12 noon Sun – Curtain Fig Stage
Would you like to learn about performing Balkan music? Maybe you’ve heard some Balkan brass music and you’re curious to learn more, or perhaps you already know a few tunes. Maybe you’d like to have a go at Balkan improvisation. Xenos will be sharing their musical knowledge, based on years of performing for and learning from various Balkan communities.

Having lived in Solomon Islands, Cambodia and the Philippines, Anna has learnt gorgeous traditional tunes from throughout Asia and the Pacific. With the generous permission of her friends and teachers from these places, she teaches these songs in gorgeous 3-part vocal harmony.

Driven by the haunting vocals of Anne & Sabine singing in Romani, learn nuances of language, tonal variations, and correct pronunciations. Anne and Sabine teach the beautiful songs of the Balkan Roma (Gypsies)
